Fishing holidays in Carinthia

You want to escape from everyday life and relax on fishing holidays in Carinthia? The house’s own fishing water is located in one of the most beautiful sections of the Drau River and can be fished all year round. Bring your family right along with you.

T he fishing water from the Hotel Glocknerhof stretches from the bridge near the train station in Berg im Drautal to St. Athanasius Church. On a river length of 2.5 km can be fished on 5 km of bank. You can reach the river on foot, by bike or by car (1 km from the hotel). For fishing in winter we recommend renting snowshoes.

All conditions for sport fishing are provided: Spin fishing and fly fishing on beautiful sandbanks, gravel and stone banks as well as streams and stream inlets. It is especially beautiful in spring and autumn. Fishing permits are issued only for hotel guests. Costs: up to 3 days € 100,- and from 4 days for the whole stay € 150,-. Your catch will be gladly prepared by our kitchen!

Fish: Rich in trout, grayling and huchen

The Drau is home to magnificent rainbow trout, brown trout and brook trout, as well as aitel and grayling. In addition, the huchen is a special species, especially since it is rarely found in Central Europe. Fishing rods are permitted as fishing tackle and natural or artificial lures, spoons, wet and dry flies as bait. There are times when the Drau River is in flood and difficult to fish. This is at snowmelt or after prolonged rain. If you want to know about the current state, call us. We are happy to provide information.

Lake fishing on the Weissensee

An alternative to the river is the nearby Weissensee. The day ticket is available from € 40. The lake is home to salmon trout, pike, zander, tench, carp and whitefish. Fishing tickets are available at the Tourist Office Weissensee (south of the bridge). Fishing is best done from a boat. Take advantage of the boat rental.
