For some time now, we’ve been selling easy-to-assemble model airplanes at the hotel that offer excellent value for the price, so we can help our guests if the need arises.

The items can be purchased on-site at the Hotel Glocknerhof in 9771 Berg im Drautal. You are welcome to reserve an item for your holidays. Shipping is available for a fee.
Why is there a store?
As every model airplane pilot knows, it can happen from time to time that a plane makes a rough landing and the damage can’t be repaired right away. That’s when it comes in handy to have a few “backup planes” on hand.
These aircraft are also of interest to flight students who want to continue practicing what they’ve learned outside of flight training.
So if you’re looking to buy a new model airplane during flight training or on holidays, or if you’d like to try something new, you’ll find everything you need right here. Just ask for Adolf, Daniel, or Marco—they’ll be happy to help you.
Repairs
Marco also offers model-building services and repairs. Depending on the scope of the work, minor repairs can be completed while you’re on holidays.
Order Replacement Parts
If we don’t have something in stock, we recommend our reliable partners for spare parts and model-making supplies: Modellsport D-M-T and Modellbau Lindinger. They all offer an extensive selection, and if you place your order by noon on a weekday, you’ll receive in-stock products as early as the next day. That way, your vacation is saved.
Toys for Children
The gliders are especially popular with our younger guests. They can fly straight ahead and do loops, making them the perfect toy to entice children outdoors. The gliders are very sturdy and hard to break. They come in many different colors, which can be selected on-site.

Glider & Electric Models
For these models, you should already have some experience and be able to fly them on your own. The model airplanes are largely pre-assembled and, in some cases, only require a battery and/or receiver. A transmitter is not included. Our flight instructor, Marco, would be happy to assist you with your first flight and offer you flight lessons with your new model.

To really get started in the hobby of model flying, a decent transmitter is essential. Then you can control all model aircraft with a remote control. In Austria, ACL strobe lights are required for flights at altitudes of 300 m or more above ground level. How about some good vacation reading?

Training with RC aircrafts
Gliding and motorized flying can also be learned at the Glocknerhof: Courses and individual lessons for beginners and advanced pilots are available with RC aircrafts of all sizes. Training sessions are held weekly from Monday to Friday throughout the year.
