A holidayswith model flying, entertainment and competitions for gliding and powered flight. The Model Flight Week Glocknerhof is the most traditional model flight event in the Drautal Valley. Those who wish can also participate in the competitions for gliding and powered flight. At the end of the week there will be live music with award ceremony and great prizes.
In this week model airplane pilots meet with company. People talk shop and party into the night. At the airfield the new flight models are presented and flown diligently. In the hotel await compensation such as swimming pool, wellness, culinary and the weekly program.

Program
- Saturday: Arrival, visit of the flying sites & getting to know the pilots
- Sunday: Free flying and compensation at the hotel
- Monday: Welcome, briefing, fee € 25 per competition
- Tuesday: Motorized aircraft competition (electric or combustion engine) at the Glocknerhof model airfield; go-karting
- Wednesday: Hang gliding competition at Rottenstein, archery at the hotel
- Thursday: free flying, sports and wellness program, barbecue evening
- Friday: End with dance music (live music) and award ceremony
- Saturday: Departure, or treat yourself to a few more holidays?
Contests
The most important thing about the competitions is just to participate and have fun. On Friday there will be a finale with dance music and award ceremony.
Motorized Competition: Simple standard aerobatics suitable for any model. Smooth takeoff, 90° turn, three loops, flying through the limbo gate, smooth approach, and landing precisely within the landing area in 3 runs.
Hang Gliding Competition: There are two criteria—maintaining the exact flight time (3 minutes) and landing centrally along a line in the landing field. Three rounds are flown. A helper launches the gliders from the upper end of the meadow. Anyone can participate. The only rule is that engines must not be started.

Course rules and regulations
The court rules must be observed. The new EU Regulation (EU) 2019/947 also applies at Hotel Glocknerhof. In addition to the liability insurance for model flight, the new EU certificate of competence A1/A3 is also required. Please also affix a registration number on the models or in the battery compartment.

Training and Services
Training with RC aircrafts
Gliding and motorized flying can also be learned at the Glocknerhof: Courses and individual lessons for beginners and advanced pilots are available with RC aircrafts of all sizes. Training sessions are held weekly from Monday to Friday throughout the year.
Hill Soaring Workshop
Gain practical experience and learn important tips and tricks from an expert: Over the course of four afternoons in the spring and fall, you’ll learn everything there is to know about slope flying. Please bring your own glider—it doesn’t matter whether it’s a pure glider or a motor glider. The seminars are designed for pilots who have mastered flying a standard model aircraft on flat terrain and would like to focus on slope flying and thermals.

RC Building Workshop
In this seminar you will learn how to build model airplanes. Each course participant builds his own RC airplane during the week. The models are built in wooden construction and covered with foil. The aim of the course is to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of making and repairing model airplanes. Depending on the progress of construction, the models can be flown in with the flight instructor.
