New time advantage thanks to the Koralm Tunnel (from December 14, 2025) and inexpensive train station shuttle directly to the Hotel Glocknerhof
The planned opening of the Koralm Tunnel will significantly speed up the rail connection between Graz and Klagenfurt. This will make the public journey from Vienna and Graz in particular much more attractive and time-saving.

TOP accessibility by train: Travel with the ÖBB Railjet directly from Vienna without changing trains in just 4 hours.
Recommendation: Book the inexpensive train station shuttle directly to the hotel.
ÖBB station shuttle:
- At https://www.oebb.at / you can book a train ticket with the destination station “Greifenburg-Weissensee”.
- After selecting the connection and the offer, “Extras at destination” appears.
- Select the box “ÖBB transfer from/to Greifenburg-Weissensee station” and enter “Hotel Glocknerhof Berg im Drautal” in the accommodation field.
- The shuttle will be waiting for you on arrival at the station and will take you directly to the Hotel Glocknerhof.

- Our tip: Via Kufstein, Kitzbühel, Pass Thurn, through the Felbertauern tunnel to Lienz (East Tyrol); follow the B100 main road to Berg im Drautal (hotel at the end of the village on the left).

Car rental on site
If you travel to the Glocknerhof without a car, but want to be flexible on holidays, then we recommend a rental car from the company Wolfgang Krenn on site. Modern VW minibuses with 9 seats are available. A normal driver’s license for passenger cars is sufficient. You pay only for the kilometers driven. Up to 99 kilometers the rate is € 0.97 gross per kilometer including diesel, with more kilometers the rate becomes cheaper. There are no further charges (as of 2025).

Free train travel in Carinthia until Lienz with the guest card
All Glocknerhof guests can use the regional trains (S-Bahn) throughout Carinthia and as far as Lienz free of charge during their holidays. Trains run every hour in both directions. The persons are free. You only pay for the transportation of bicycles and dogs.
Use the free train in conjunction with your cycle tour along the Drau cycle path or for a trip to Lienz!
